About us

Jamar Consultants was registered in 1999, as an operating business in Trinidad & Tobago. Because the name was registered prior to our physical operation which began July 1999, the use of the term “Consultants” was not believed to be truly representative of the services provided, at the onset of our operation and in 2001, another name, “Jamar Technology Services” was registered.  Both names have been used from then, to present, representing different aspects of our operations.

initially, providing tuition in Computer Literacy along with Computer Sales and Service to residents throughout Trinidad’s southern peninsula, at our established place of business, 4 Adventure Road in Point Fortin, the company quickly became recognized as an authorized supplier of Personal Computers, via Employee Computer Acquisition Programs, of state-owned companies, including, TSTT, Petrotrin/Trinmar and Government Public Servants.

Adding to our physical presence within the peninsula, in 2001, a 2nd branch was opened on High Street Siparia.

During the construction of Atlantic’s (LNG Company) Train 4, Jamar provided local IT support for German company DYWIDAG GmbH, throughout the building of Tank #4.
We designed the internal ethernet network system, supplied customized Computer Systems for employees of DYWIDAG and continuous support service.

Another major network project undertaken, was providing the complete networking infrastructure for the extension of the National Energy Corporation (NEC), headquarters on Riverlet Road, Couva.  This job was sub-contracted through Ashana Civil Engineering.

In 2003, Jamar developed a first of its kind community website, Pointalive, providing a platform for current and former residents of Point Fortin to connect socially.  Ironically, Facebook was created in the same year. The platform grew to incorporate viewers and contributors from other communities throughout Trinidad & Tobago and globally, with a high viewership in North America.

Spring-boarding from our technology background & Social Website, Jamar became the first company engaged in Media Streaming in Trinidad & Tobago, creating media streaming platforms for radio stations, 91.9fm and 90.1fm. Our services went on to include, conference media streaming and internet relayed, outdoor broadcasting, for local radio stations.

Wedding photography and video recording became included into our list of services provided and responding to the need to have high quality photos printed for our weddings, in 2008, Jamar acquired a state-of-the-art, Agfa D-Lab 1 Print Lab and immediately plunged ourselves into the professional photo printing business. This subsequently led to the opening of our Retail Branch, located on Main Road Point Fortin in 2013. Though originally intended to last only throughout the Christmas season of that year, the branch operated through March 2016.

Sometime between 2010-2011, as an add-on service provided, Jamar began assisting persons with their United States Visa Applications.  The United States of America, State Department, back then, introduced online submission for US Visa applications and this provided some challenge to persons who either were constrained by time due to work, social engagements or who just wasn’t into online applications. This service is still currently being provided by our company and remains in high demand.

Both companies, Jamar Consultants and Jamar Technology Services, secured freelance, photography and video recording contracts, with the Government Information Services Limited (GISL), providing media coverage for Government’s various broadcast mediums. This spanned from 2011 through 2015.
Freelance photo & video services were also done for, Atlantic, National Gas Company (NGC), Lake Asphalt Company Limited, First Citizen Bank among others.

Another add-on to our services, was the introduction of Graphic Design and Customized Printing. This service began on or about, 2002/2003, it was propelled by customer demand, when our retail outlet was opened.

2017, a decision was made to open another retail outlet in San Fernando. The location was Eden Center Mall, on High Street.  However, in April of 2018, a fire engulfed the mall and operations had to be ceased.  Following this tragedy, a decision was taken to create an online portal, to provide services to our customers.  This project is still in development.
