I am an entertainer, do I require a visa to perform in the USA if i already have a previous US VISA?

Entertainers from Trinidad and Tobago, must travel to the United States on visas for artists and entertainers known as “O” and “P” work visas.  These visa categories require a  petition form to work, perform, and receive income in the United States.
Even if these performances are done without remuneration.  Performing for free is still considered performing and requires an O or P visa.

Nonimmigrant “B1//B2” (regular visitor visas)
In very limited instances, entertainers can utilize the tourist or B/1/B2 visa to participate in cultural programs fully sponsored by the government of Trinidad and Tobago and for a non- paying audience.  These situations are extremely rare and will be made known to the applicant.  Do not perform in the United States on a B1/B2 visa without express permission.

I am travelling to another country but my flight options are best transiting through the United States.

Travel purposes which require a Transit (C) Visa – Examples:

  • A foreign citizen traveling to another country who will have a brief layover in the United States when the only reason for entering the United States is to transit.
  • A passenger embarking from a foreign port on a cruise ship or other vessel which is proceeding to another country, other than the United States, but during the course of the journey, the vessel makes port in the United States with no intention of landing in the United States.
  • A crewmember traveling to the United States as a passenger to join a ship or aircraft you will work on, providing services for operation. You will also need a crewmember D visa, most often issued as a combination C-1/D visa.
  • A foreign citizen proceeding in immediate and continuous transit through the United States to or from the United Nations Headquarters District, under provisions of the Headquarters agreement with the United Nations, requires a diplomatic transit (C-2) visa. I live in Trinidad & Tobago but my Fiance lives in the United States.
I am planning on moving to the US to marry, what do I need to do?

YOU WILL NEED A K-1 VISA
The fiancé(e) K-1 nonimmigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a United States (U.S.) citizen. The K-1 visa permits the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) to travel to the United States and marry his or her U.S. citizen sponsor within 90 days of arrival. The foreign-citizen will then apply for adjustment of status to a permanent resident (LPR) with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Because a fiancé(e) visa permits the holder to immigrate to the U.S. and marry a U.S. citizen shortly after arrival in the United States, the fiancé(e) must meet some of the requirements of an immigrant visa. Eligible children of K-1 visa applicants receive K-2 visas.
